Up close to an Antique Threshing Machine. Manitoba Agricultural Museum, Austin, Manitoba, Canada.

For those who aren’t familiar, a threshing machine or “thresher” preceded the modern day combine.  This machine was a steam powered model on display at The Manitoba Agricultural Museum in Austin.  The museum houses the largest collection of vintage farm machinery in Canada, with over 500 implements and a large pioneer village.  I sort of stumbled upon the museum while photographing the prairie harvest, and regrettably didn’t spend much time there.  But, would certainly recommend a day trip for anyone interested in the history of farming on the Canadian Prairies.
